Album: Let Me Ride
Young and talented Kristyn Harris has just released her very exciting new CD of 12 western tunes that includes some great Western Swing with wonderful and talented musicians and the spotlight on the beautiful voice and yodeling of Kristyn. Kristyn also plays rhythm guitar and plays acoustic bass on one tune, from the Gene Autry library Let Me Ride Down in Rocky Canyon which was written by Gene, Ray Whitley and Fred Rose. Russ Rand plays bass on all other tunes in the album.
The album was produced by and also features some awesome guitar playing by Rich O'Brien. The great Johnny Cox is the album steel guitarist and Jess Meador is doing the top class fiddling except on Juni Fisher's Cowgirlfriends which features Brook Wallace playing fiddle. Both Nick Diomedes and Patrick Bubert are the album drummers and Jon Stutler plays clarinet and saxophone. Chuck Dawson plays harmonica and both Kristyn and Devon Dawson do harmony vocals.
Kristyn also wrote What a Horse Has Gotta Do and wrote in part with Devon and the legendary Janet McBride, the future hit Yodel Western Swing. Kristyn borrows from both Bob Wills and pop music My Window Faces the South and from Carolina Cotton, Dude Martin's Mockingbird Yodel. Janet McBride also wrote the beautiful Texas Bluebonnet Waltz and also included is Randy Huston's Guardian Angel. Kristyn also brings back two marvelous western classics from the Roy Rogers and Dale Evans movie and recording era, Roll Along Prairie Moon and When the White Roses Bloom Down in Red River Valley. The final two tunes are Horse Nobody Could Ride and Endless Sky.
