Album: Yodeling Blonde Bombshell- Volume 2
Carolina Cotton was a very popular personality in Western Swing music and western movies during the decades of the 1940s and 50s. Her daughter had released a fantastic CD volume of her material. Now, she has issued a second volume of her mother's wonderful music for her fans to enjoy. Hopefully, many new fans will be made. This new second volume has 22 cuts including an early 1950ís Carolina Cotton Calls radio show (#89) featuring the Rhythm Riders- Darol Rice, George Bamby, Slim Duncan, Joe Maphis and Mike Barton.
The recordings include rare Mastertone and Crystal records as well as two MGM recordings with Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys, Three Miles South of Cash and I'm All Alone. There are also many of her own MGM recordings and other cuts from radio shows and movies. Many wonderful bands and musicians are heard on this album including the Deuce Spriggens band on Ragtime Cowboy Joe from an unknown radio show and the awesome Mercury recording I Been Down in Texas. Foy Willing and the Riders of the Purple Sage, The Saddle Kings, Merle Travis and his band and the great Tex Williams band also are heard with Carolina on this album. There is also a radio cut with Andy Parker and the Plainsmen and a super mid 40s I'd Love to Be A Cowgirl from an unknown source.
