Album: Swing Carolyn Martin is one of the vocalists for that wonderful 11 piece band, The Time Jumpers. On this fantastic new CD of 13 tunes Carolyn surrounds herself with many of her band-mates from The Time Jumpers and other wonderful musicians heard throughout this CD on various cuts. The steel guitarists heard are Time Jumper John Hughey as well as Mike Johnson and former Time Jumper Johnny Cox. Another former Time Jumper Hoot Hester is heard on fiddle as are current band-mates Aubrey Haynie, Kenny Sears and Joe Spivey. Time Jumper Ranger Doug Green joins Carolyn Martin for a duet on one of Bob Wills' great unissued recordings, Cindy Walker's Don't Count Your Chickens before They Hatch. Also from the Time Jumpers is Andy Reiss- lead and acoustic guitar and Jeff Taylor- accordion and piano. On the drums are heard Tommy Wells and Bob Mater and Jerry Krahn plays acoustic guitar. Carolyn's husband, Dave Martin plays bass and the leader of The Western Swingers, John England does a duet with Carolyn on Spade Cooley's Crazy Cause I Love You. On the Faron Young 1950s hit from the Tommy Collins pen If You Ain't Lovin' Riders in the Sky members Doug Green- acoustic guitar and Joey Miskulin- accordion play. The album opens with the Dorothy Fields/Jimmy McHugh pop chestnut Exactly Like You. Other pop standards are Sugar from Peggy Lee, Three Little Words, When You Wish Upon a Star and When You're Smilin'. Singer/songwriter Roger Brown gave Carolyn Put Yourself in my Blues and Hoot Hester wrote Only Time Will Tell especially for Carolyn. She wrote along with Andy Reiss the wonderful Western Swinger Texas to a T and borrowed from Red Foley Cheatin' on Your Baby and Billy Hughes' Tennessee Saturday Night.
