The group rhythm guitar player, Larry Lange, bass player, Jackson Brown and one of the fiddle players, Grady Smith are heard on vocals. The band steel guitarist is Clint Finley and the other fiddle player is David Holcomb. Rick Langford is the drummer and Johnny Divine is the lead guitarist. The album opens with Deep in the Heart of Texas Medley which is a compilation of an instrumental version of Deep in the Heart of Texas and two Texas dance hall favorites, There Stands the Glass and Whiskey River. The band borrow four from the great Bob Wills, Fred Rose's Deep Water, Jesse Ashlock's Please Don't Leave Me, No News is Good News and the Wills composition and theme San Antonio Rose. They borrow from the great Ray Price one that he wrote with Willie Nelson, I Just Destroyed the World I'm Livin' In and another from Willie's pen that was a huge Johnny Bush hit What a Way to Live. Another Texas dance hall shuffle favorite that they rework is the Bill Anderson composition from the late Faron Young, Face to the Wall. Another in the same mood is Vince Gill's Don't Come Crying to Me while the mood changes completely to pure western swing with the Asleep at the Wheel favorite, originally written and sung by their leader, Ray Benson, Dance with Who Brung ya.
